TVET as primary option for skill-based learning

20 November 2023

KOTA KINABALU: Schools are encouraged to empower students in pursuing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to align with the educational capacities necessary for a promising future.

Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said promoting TVET as the primary option for skill-based learning is crucial, given the growing societal preference for it.

“Data from the Human Resources Department Training Institute (ILJTM) consistently shows a commendable employability rate exceeding 90 per cent annually,” he said during the SMK Bahang Penampang Form Five 2023/2024 graduation ceremony at the Sabah International Convention Centre.

A total of 360 students, comprising 335 mainstream and 25 special education students received their certificates.
